Upgrading a building to make it more energy-efficient is the way of the future
Unfortunately, the necessary funds and - in particular - the right kind of advice on what to measures to take are often not available. Equipped with the experience of our parent company LUWOGE GmbH, BASF's housing company, and the increasing demand in housing upgrading to make it more energy-efficient, we set about taking a closer look at how it economic this might be.
In cooperation with the Institut Wohnen und Umwelt Darmstadt (Darmstadt Institute of Residential and Environmental Studies), we have developed a calculation model for this purpose which we use to calculate the economics of upgrading a building to make it more energy-efficient and which can give the investor a solid decision-making basis.
The result shows clearly which procedure is the most economically viable for the property we look at.
